Chinese Experts in Iran to Study Construction of Bridge

QESHM, Hurmouzgan Prov. - An eight-member Chinese team of experts on Sunday inspected the proposed construction site of the Persian Gulf Bridge in the Qeshm island's port of Loft. The Deputy Director of Qeshm Free Trade Zone (FTZ) Development and Expansion Organization Nikokar-Isfahani said that the Chinese experts are in Qeshm for feasibility study on the bridge. He added that it is the second time in the past month that this group, is affiliated to the city of Shanghai's Municipality, has visited the area.
Nikokar-Isfahani said that the bridge is 2,500 meter long and has been designed in a way that water pipelines, electrictiy and telephone cables pass through it. He further said that once constructed the Persian Gulf Bridge will connect the Central Asian states to other countries and will have favorable impact in transit of goods in the region. (IRNA)
